The Learning
Curve...
According to a recent study
published in the British science
journal Nature, learning to
juggle can expand the areas of
the brain that process and store
visual information.Gray matter,
which refers to the parts of the
brain and spinal cord,
responsible for advanced
mental functions, actually
increases in size!
It was previously believed that the anatomical structure of the
brain didnt change, except for decreases caused by age and
disease.
...Juggling, is a visuomotor
skill, but deals a lot with
anticipation of movements,
with retrieving visual information.
Bogdahn Draganski, one of the
studys authors went on to note:
...consequently, the perception
and spatial anticipation of moving objects, is a stronger stimulus
for the visual areas than the motor areas.
